Senior lecturer and researcher at the Universitat de Girona (UdG)


Mònica Puntí-Brun is a lecturer and researcher at the University of Girona (UdG) where she received her PhD with a thesis on proximity digital media. She teaches and directs final projects in Advertising and Public Relations. She has a degree in Journalism and Documentation from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and a Master in Information and Knowledge Society from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC).

She collaborates in the research groups CSiI and POMAC of the UdG. Her main research areas are information literacy and disinformation, transmedia narratives and digital media, scientific and health communication, proximity communication and corporate communication. These are the topics of her academic publications and with which she has participated in national and international conferences.

Previously she had been a collaborating professor at the UOC where she had directed master’s and postgraduate final projects. She has previous professional experience in communication departments and offices, as a freelance and in collaborations with several local media.
