Journalist and Doctor in Information Sciences


In the academic field, he has taught at UAB since 1983, where he is currently an Honorary Professor of Audiovisual Communication. Since 2007, he has been the director of the Radio Observatory (GRISS-UAB). 

In the professional sphere, he was the Founder and editor-in-chief of the inter-county weekly MESTRAL (1978-1979), Director of Radio Reus EAJ 11- SER (1982-1986), General Director of REBSA “Cadena Catalana” (1986-1989), and Director of Radio Barcelona (1989-2002). 

He was elected a member of the Radio Committee of the European Broadcasting Union and coordinator of Programs for Youth. 

He has coordinated the Three Radio Congresses in Catalonia (1996, 2003, 2006). 

He is the promoter and founder of Canal Reus TV in 1997. 

He served as Director of Local Radio and TV for the PRISA Group in Catalonia until 2019. 

He is the Director of the Master’s Degree in Direction and Management of Radio Companies, organized by UAB, Cadena SER, and Santilla Formación. 

He is the Director of the Journalist Tools collection, from the College of Journalists of Catalonia, Editorial Pòrtic, 1999, with the support of UAB, UPF, and Ramón Llull. 

He has written, among others, the following books: “The Local Radio Stations in Catalonia” IORTV 1982; “Radio in Catalonia: Structure of the Catalan Broadcasting System” CIC, 1996; “Models of Radio Programming”, Fead Back, 1994; “Journalism and Political Transition in Reus”, Cossetània Edicions, 1998; “From Idea to Antenna”, Editorial Pòrtic, 2000; “51 Ideas for Making Good Radio”, Barcelona: Editorial UOC, 2016. 

He has received the following distinctions: Omnium Cultural Communication Award 1982 for the program Plaça Major, Creu de Sant Jordi awarded by the Generalitat de Catalunya in 2014, Ondas Award for professional trajectory in 2014.
