I am a full professor of Journalism at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU), where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Information Science in 1982 and my PhD in 1992 with Cum Laude honors. Before entering academia in 1987, I worked at several prominent Spanish radio networks. I have held various administrative roles, including coordinating Journalism degrees and directing master’s and PhD programs. As a principal investigator, I lead the HGH Media, Society and Education Research Group and am involved in GUREIKER, focusing on multidisciplinary research. My work includes exploring Slow Journalism and health communication, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. I have published 201 scientific texts and directed seven doctoral theses. Additionally, I have had research stays in the USA and other countries, contributing to my extensive academic and professional experience.
