Catedrático en el Departamento de Periodismo y Comunicación Global de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid


Manuel Fernández-Sande is a professor in the Department of Global Journalism and Communication at the Complutense University of Madrid. He is one of the two main researchers, together with Luis Miguel Pedrero, of the project of the State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research “Comprehensive study of the audio cultural industry in Spain: agents, contents, consumption habits, professional profiles and literacy strategies” (PID2023-149124OB-I00). In addition, he directs the research group “Analysis of journalistic information, cultural industries and media economy” and is part of the group “Audiovisual Diversity” -UC3M-. His research focuses on the radio market, podcasting, radio history and strategic management of information companies. He has published a hundred scientific contributions and participated in numerous research projects and contracts. He has directed thirteen doctoral theses, most of them on radio and podcasting. He has been a visiting researcher at Glasgow Caledonian University, Cambridge University and Universidade de S.o Paulo (USP), among others.
